London Stadium Media Services
London, United Kingdom
London Stadium was originally constructed for the 2012 Olympic Games and today serves as West Ham United's home ground and one of London's biggest venues for various cultural and sports events. As the stadium's service provider, PlanValley has been responsible for content management and operation on all digital screens inside and outside the stadium. We deliver a spectrum of services to the venue and its clients for daily business and special once-in-a-lifetime events.
We partnered up with our colleagues at OMM to support the stadium with a made-to-measure mix of technologies of carefully chosen media server systems and other soft- and hardware solutions. Beginning with consultation on the norms of content delivery we lead through the whole process from creation to the screen.
The LED perimeters around the field are operated independently of the remaining media systems in the stadium using Goal Sport as one of the industry standards for in-match advertising. For certain events that require more sophisticated timeline programming, we utilise an additional Christie Pandoras Box media server system. This allows us to create immersive experiences that synchronise the big screens with the stadium's LED perimeters and other departments like light and audio control. Furthermore, Pandoras Box software is used as the backbone of our content management for tailored scoreboard solutions on special events beyond West Ham United's home matches.
The so-called external wrap, the world's formerly biggest LED screen on the stadium's facade is exclusively run through an extensive content management and scheduling tool, controlling another independent Pandoras Box system. All LED screens in and around the stadium offer the option to be linked together within one media server domain to run extensive frame-sync shows beyond the limits of the stadium bowl.
Finally, we at PlanValley are responsible for the operation and management of the stadium's extensive IP-TV setup - reaching from TV screens in their VIP booths, down to price displays at their kiosks. Each screen can be individually routed and configured either from our operational positions in the stadium as well as via remote access.
